October Storm

It's still falling lightly, but the storm is definitely moving out. D measured 19 inches when he got home from work at 6. No school, but he had to go in.

Snow on my lens.

It was funny watching Charlie trying to jump through drifts as tall as he is. Now I have to try to drive in this tomorrow to get to the school Halloween party.

R & Charlie in the Snow

The colder and wetter the better for them. They had to be dragged back inside. Lured with warm rolls.

Charlie will never sit still long enough for a good photo. Today I discovered the secret. I put my camera in a Ziploc to protect it from the snow, and he thought the rustling meant I had a treat for him. Complete and total focus and attention.

It has stopped coming down and I'm afraid that means no snow day for D tomorrow. Probably school will be back on too. Wouldn't it be wonderful to wake up to a heavy new snowfall, and no one could go anywhere?

Snow Day!

Our neighbor's giant blue spruce.

Our front porch as of about 1:30 this afternoon.

No school today, a lot more snow in the forecast. I hope D gets home from work safely and we all have a snow day tomorrow!
