Edamame Bento
R brings milk in her lunch every day. If it's in these little boxes she'll finish it, but she won't if it's in a thermos. I feel guilty about the expense and paper waste of the boxes, but I want her to drink milk. If only the milk at school was organic.

A Muddy Walk
I am so lucky to live here. To be able to take off with Julie after we drop our kids at school, and go for muddy slippery walks down the canal trail.
A broken-winged fairy. Look at the little green shoots coming up through the mud, right below her hand.
I always nod and agree when people say they hope we're done with the snow, but I secretly hope we're not.

Quinoa bento
You can find so many interesting things made with quinoa. It's a complete protein and especially nutritious for kids.
We've been eating this for breakfast lately. I know you can use the flakes in recipes too, but I haven't tried it. I made apple-nut muffins with quinoa flour in the fall, and they were really good.
